JOB TITLE: Part Time Cake Decorator/Sales Assistant

LOCATION: Create A Cake Designer Cake Boutique, Liverpool, L14 0LX

You will work alongside other cake decorators to bake, decorate and finish various cakes for bespoke orders. You’ll play a key part in keeping our customers happy and our shop a fun, friendly place to be.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet/Provide a friendly welcome to all customers who visit or telephone.

• Meet and talk with customers to discuss cake design ideas for their bespoke orders.

• Draw/sketch cake designs to influence customer's orders.

• Bake bespoke cakes to meet customer's order requirements.

• Produce attractive designs and create cake decorations. 

• Set up and clear away baking equipment, keeping the work area clean.

• Keep a check on stock levels of cake baking ingredients for future orders. 

• Serve customers - processing cash and card payments.

• Keep the shop floor tidy and clean, this includes hoovering and mopping.

• Receive and store the delivery of stock.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Cake Decorating experience is an absolute must.

• Interest and knowledge of cakes.

• Artistic ability to create cake designs and decorations.

• Fast learner with the ability to pick up skills on the job.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Good communication skills  - to discuss requirements with customers.

• Strong organisational skills - to meet cake order deadlines.

• Basic maths skills - for working with ingredients/weights and measures.

• Clear knowledge of health and safety guidelines.

• Flexibility - willingness to adapt hours of working due to business needs.

• Friendly and engaging personality.

• Comfortable working with members of the public.

• Should be of a smart appearance and articulate.

 

WORKING HOURS:

Hourly rate is dependant on experience.

Daily work hours vary between 8am - 6pm Monday to Saturday on a part time basis.

Min Hours: 16 hours per week

Max Hours: 37.5 hours per week

 

INCOME:

Salary - negotiable dependent on experience and skill level.

 

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT:

Some training will be offered, however this position is not for a novice.

As a cake decorator working for a bakery, you will train while you work. You will learn skills from other cake decorators on the job.
