Father's Day is a day to celebrate and honor fathers and father figures around the world. Whether grandads, grandpas, grandfathers even father in laws. On Father's Day most people make a conscious effort to treat their fathers with gifts, cards even special Father's Day cupcakes to demonstrate how special they are to them and show they care.

WHEN IS FATHER'S DAY?

In the United Kingdom Father's Day is always held on the third Sunday of June. It's not treated as a bank holiday in the UK however many restaurants and pubs are really busy and thd majority get booked up as people take their father figures out to celebrate.

• Father’s Day was first introduced in America by a lady called Mrs. Sonora Smart Dodd. She wanted to show how much she cared for her father who was a single parent and raised his 6 children alone.

• The first Father’s Day was celebrated on June 19, 1910.
  The first American Father's Day celebration took place in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1910

•  Card maker Hallmark suggests that Father's Day is the 5th largest card sending celebration of the year.
